Ways to add more storage to your Bathroom

1.  Replace your pedestal sink with a dresser that you can add a sink to.  Make sure the wood is treated to protect it from water damage.  Remember you will lose some of the storage area for the sink but you may be able to recess pipes into the wall or use a wall mounted faucet to gain space.

2. Install extra shelves inside your existing cabinetry.  This will maximize the storage you already have. Make sure it clears the sink underneath; consider adding storage to inside of doors as well.

3. If space allows, consider adding a freestanding shelving unit or bookcase for more storage can be closed cabinetry, open shelves or a combination.  Store your extra toiletries in the decorative baskets and stack your folded towels on the shelves.

4. No floor space?  Add wall mounted storage over the commode.  Either closed cabinetry or open shelving would work whichever you prefer.

5. Give each family member a personal canvas tote or basket.  Each person can store their toiletries in their tote, take it out, use what they need and then put it back.  It can easily be stored under the sink or on open shelving.  This will help keep countertops clean and clutter free.  Baskets or canvas totes can be color coordinated to bathroom.

6. Use hooks, racks, towel bars or even a shoe rack mounted on the bathroom door to save wall space.

7. In the shower, use containers and racks that attach to non-porous surfaces with suction cups.  Some styles provide storage for shampoos, razors and hooks to hang washcloths on but don’t cause damage to the surface.

8.  Canisters are not just for the kitchen!  Use them on the countertop in the bathroom to store cotton balls, Q-tips, or even hide your toothbrush & toothpaste in style.
